What this blog is about….

This page is not about hate. It is not about blaming, naming, or shaming anyone. It exists for one reason only: to tell Stephen’s truth.

We are sharing his story in full because life with a spinal cord injury, mental health struggles, and addiction is complex, messy, and often deeply misunderstood. The reality isn’t neat, and pretending it is helps no one. Our hope is that by being honest, Stephen’s story might help others who are living through similar pain feel less alone, more seen, and better understood.

There will be things shared here that some people won’t understand. Things that are uncomfortable. Things that may hurt, and yes, things that may bring up guilt. That is not the intention—but it is part of telling the truth. Nothing will be published that cannot be backed up by audio, messages, or physical proof. This is not opinion or exaggeration; it is lived experience.

It’s time for everyone to acknowledge the roles they played in Stephen’s suffering—including us, his sisters. We are not excluding ourrselves from this truth. Accountability matters, and so does honesty.

If Stephen’s story gives even one person hope, clarity, or the courage to keep going—then sharing it matters.
